Speaking to SABC Sport, Swart boldly declared that they’ve had a near perfect season, as they’re guaranteed their best ever points finish regardless of what happens in their final league game against First Touch Ladies.
She says they had a shift of mentality this year and were more determined to challenge Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies.
"This season I'll rate a 10/10 because of the attitude, the determination, the mindset, everything that Janine has instilled in us. The discipline that the team has gained, the mentality and just never giving up no matter how bad,” Swart said.
“There were games that we were losing and we came back and we drew. You know, scoring in the last minute of games, that alone just shows we have what it takes to compete at the top but I think this season compared to the others, we were really determined to do well."
JVW can only finish with 69 points this season and with Sundowns’ win over Copper Belts FC yesterday, they have unfortunately fallen out of the title race.
They can, however, hold their heads high after pushing all the way to the end and are actually on an incredible 10-game winning streak.
"I think we've already accepted that obviously Sundowns have one game to go for them to be crowned champions but for us it was never about the other people. The focus was on us and what we are capable of and I think that has shown throughout the season and now we just gotta finish strong and whatever happens, we tried and we worked so hard to get to where we are,” he added.
“I think we should be really proud of ourselves and give ourselves credit for fighting the way we did this season, regardless of what circumstances we were dealt with. We always rose above and I think for me, I'm so proud to be part of this team."
