Egypt star Hamza Abdelkarim earns long-term Barcelona deal

Abdelkarim joined Barcelona initially on loan from Egyptian giants Al Ahly in February before making his move permanent during the European summer.

His rapid rise has continued on the international stage. Abdelkarim became the youngest player to represent Egypt at a FIFA World Cup when he featured in four of their five matches at the 2026 tournament.

The young forward also caught the eye during Barcelona's pre-season campaign, scoring four goals in five appearances.

He was rewarded with his competitive debut for the Spanish champions last month when he came on as a late substitute during Barcelona's 5-2 La Liga victory over Rayo Vallecano.

Barcelona confirmed on Friday that Abdelkarim will formally sign his contract extension on Tuesday, tying him to the club for the next four years.
