Como and Roma keep Serie A momentum rolling with wins

Both sides produced strong performances, with Como extending their unbeaten run and Roma moving back to the top of the table.

Kaiki seals Como victory over Parma

Como followed their impressive UEFA Champions League debut with another important victory, beating Parma 2-1 at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.

Cesc Fabregas' side made the better start and came close when Nico Paz saw his effort deflected wide before Yan Couto tested Parma goalkeeper Edoardo Corvi.

Como took the lead in the 23rd minute when Jacobo Ramon met Paz's corner and fired into the net from inside the box.

The hosts continued to control possession but Parma remained organised and almost levelled just before half-time. Simone Lontani met Sascha Britschgi's cross with a header but sent the effort just over the bar.

Parma created their best opportunity shortly after the hour mark. Emanuele Valeri's cross found substitute David Romero close to goal, but Robert Sanchez produced an excellent save to push his effort onto the post.

Como then threatened at the other end when Maxence Caqueret released Kaiki Bruno, who attempted to chip Corvi but missed the target.

The home side finally found their second goal in the 83rd minute. Corvi failed to hold Samuele Ricci's cross from the right and Kaiki reacted quickly to score from close range.

Couto went close to adding a third, but Corvi made another save before Caqueret fired the rebound wide.

Parma did pull one back in stoppage time when Romero converted Pontus Almqvist's cross, but Como held on for another victory.

The result means Como remain unbeaten after an excellent start to the campaign, while Parma are still searching for their first league win. They will next face Genoa.

Malen strikes again as Roma beat Torino

Roma maintained their perfect Serie A start with a 2-0 victory over Torino at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.

The win extended Roma's winning run in the league to nine matches, stretching back to last season, and returned them to the top of the table.

Roma immediately put Torino under pressure, with Donyell Malen missing an early chance after a cross caught Lucas Perri out.

Matias Soule and Bryan Cristante also went close before Malen had a goal ruled out for offside.

Torino gradually improved and created opportunities of their own. Eray Comert headed over before Rolando Mandragora forced Mile Svilar into a save.

Roma regained control and finally broke the deadlock through Malen.

The forward followed up after his first effort was parried, sliding the rebound into the net to score for the ninth time in as many Serie A appearances.

Roma continued to threaten after the break, with Nahuel Molina shooting narrowly wide.

Torino then became more dangerous after Malen was substituted before the hour mark. Giovanni Simeone tested Svilar, while the Roma goalkeeper also kept out another Mandragora free-kick.

Roma remained dangerous at the other end. Perri made an excellent save to deny Molina's powerful effort from outside the box before tipping Gianluca Mancini's header over the bar.

Torino continued to search for an equaliser, but Roma finally secured the points in stoppage time.

Niccolo Pisilli reacted quickest to a loose ball inside the area and poked home the second goal.

Roma's victory keeps them at the summit and moves them closer to a club-record 11 consecutive Serie A victories.

Torino, meanwhile, have lost four of their last five matches and have now gone nine league games without keeping a clean sheet.
