Club CEO wants Michael Olise to play for Bayern Munich 'as long as possible'

Bayern Munich intend to keep Michael Olise at the club for the foreseeable future, with CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen indicating that a new contract could be discussed when the timing is right.

The France international remains tied to the Bundesliga champions until 2029, meaning there is no immediate confirmation of an agreement to extend his current deal. However, Bayern's stance suggests they are keen to secure the winger's services beyond his existing commitment.

Olise attracted reported interest from Real Madrid during the summer transfer window, but the Spanish giants did not secure his signature as he continued his career in Munich.

"We want Michael to play for us for as long as possible. When the time is right, we will discuss the future with him," Dreesen told Sport Bild.

"If someone asked me today whether he would win the Ballon d'Or one day, my answer would always be: I don't see why not.

"Of course, he also needs a team that functions well around him. He has that here with us, and he appreciates it."

Bayern recruited the attacker from Crystal Palace in 2024, reportedly paying 53 million euros to bring him to Germany. Since then, he has established himself as a key creative presence, recording 21 Bundesliga assists during the 2025/26 campaign to equal the competition's record for a single season. He also supplied 31 assists across all competitions.

The 24-year-old developed through several English youth systems, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City, before joining Reading in 2017. He made his senior debut for Reading in March 2019 and earned the EFL Young Player of the Season award in 2020/21.
