Carlos Espi completes Real Madrid move on five-year deal

Real Madrid have completed the signing of promising Spanish striker Carlos Espi from Levante after reportedly triggering the release clause in his contract.

The Spanish giants confirmed the transfer on Thursday, only hours after reports claimed they were ready to activate the 21-year-old's release clause, believed to be worth 25 million euros.

Espi has signed a five-year contract that will keep him at Real Madrid until 2031 as the club continue to strengthen their squad with some of Spain's brightest young talent.

The forward enjoyed an impressive 2025-26 campaign with Levante, scoring 11 goals in 25 La Liga appearances. His return was even more impressive considering he started only 13 league matches, making the most of his opportunities whenever he was selected.

Real Madrid believe Espi has the potential to develop into one of the country's leading strikers, and his arrival underlines the club's long-term strategy of investing in young players with high potential.

Espi's move also comes as fellow forward Gonzalo Garcia appears to be closing in on a transfer to Fulham, where he is expected to reunite with former Real Madrid Castilla coach Alvaro Arbeloa.
