Cape Town City and TS Galaxy in advanced talks over Tshegofatso Nyama

SABC Sport has established that Cape Town City and TS Galaxy are in advanced talks over the sale of left-back Tshegofatso Nyama.

The Rockets are open to concluding a transfer for the defender as chairman Tim Sukazi has publicly made it clear that their business model includes selling their best players.

Galaxy have already sold captain Given Msimango to Kaizer Chiefs for next season and it’s believed Nyama could follow.

According to sources, City and Galaxy have not yet finalised the deal, although all indications are that Nyama, 23, could very well be playing his football in Cape Town as of 1 July under coach Eric Tinkler.

Despite their much-publicised financial woes during the current campaign, Nyama has made the left-back position his own – featuring in 23 matches in all competitions having displaced Ebrahim Seedat, who began the season as the preferred choice.

Asked for comment on the imminent deal, Nyama’s agent was vague, though confirming there is a move in the pipeline for the left back.

“There is some truth to your story but it’s not accurate and it needs to be corrected slightly,” Basia Michaels responded to SABC Sport

“I’ve tried to do a deal previously for Tshego during one of the transfer windows, which didn’t end up working out. I am still actively trying to see if I can recook this, but with the two chairmen on either side – it’s not an easy task.”

The public broadcaster’s sports desk has it on good authority that the two chairmen, City’s John Comitis and Galaxy’s Tim Sukazi, are in advanced discussions.

“Should he be transferred in the upcoming window, then sure you will hear about it as it will be announced, right now, no there is no such deal,” Michaels insisted.
