The Brazilians were crowned African champions following a 2-1 aggregate victory over the Moroccan outfit in Rabat, registering a second star for the club.
Santos said afterwards they had ample chances but in the end lost to a better – and perhaps more deserving side.
"They scored one more goal more than us, and it's a mix of very difficult feelings because in one way we can be very proud of what we achieved and we pushed our opponents all the way."
The hosts had two penalties – converting one and missing the other – and the coach believes the outcome could have been different.
AS FAR were winners of the Champions League 40 years ago and played with intent in front of a packed crowed to try and recreate history.
Asked about his future with the club, Santos kept his cards close to his chest with his contract now set to run down.
"I'm completely focused and have been completely focused on this final, and now my contract runs until the end of June and that is the reality. I prefer to focus now on recovering after all the effort and the emotion."
