South Africa will take on the world’s fifth-ranked side on 6 and 9 June as part of their preparations for next month’s CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Dlamini says the squad remains positive and eager to test themselves against one of the best teams in women’s football.
"When it comes to our mentality, it's just about taking every challenge as it comes because we know what's at stake and what we are preparing for. We have to adapt to every situation we face, whether it's on the field or outside the field if we want to conquer Africa again."
Dlamini believes facing a strong opponent like Japan is important in helping Banyana assess their level of competition and overall fitness ahead of WAFCON.
She says matches of this nature provide key insight into areas the team still needs to improve on ahead of the continental showpiece.
"It's very important to face such opponents to see where you are at and where we need to strengthen even more."
The Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies goalkeeper says the team is motivated to represent South Africa on the international stage and reclaim their status as one of Africa’s top football nations.
Dlamini concludes that the players remain committed to making the country proud both at home and abroad.
