The Burnley forward arrives at the continental showpiece with significant attention on him as a Premier League player – scrutiny that only intensifies when goals are slow to come.
But speaking ahead of Friday afternoon’s clash with Egypt, just days after his stunning strike secured a 2-1 victory over Angola, Foster said he is hungry to contribute in any way that benefits the team.
Foster sounded confident that Bafana would not fall into the trap of being complacent against the title record holders Egypt.
"It's an important game for both teams, after both of us won our opening matches. It's up to us to drive our own standards to keep the streak going."
The 25-year-old is also of the opinion that beating Angola set the kind of tone they wanted in the early days of the AFCON.
"The morale in the camp is very good at the minute, as the coach said, the game was very important for us to get maximum points, and I think that helps a lot going into the rest of the tournament."
