The Cape side currently sit second and remain locked in a tight contest for a top-four finish, which would guarantee a home quarter-final in the knockout stages.
Willemse says the 32-19 win over the Bulls was a significant result, underlining the importance of regaining momentum and placing themselves back in a favourable position heading into the final phase of the season.
"It was very important for us to get the win last week and to put ourselves in a good position. There are six games left in the URC, so it's the business end of things and we are sitting pretty nicely on the log.
"We are looking forward to a big game against the Dragons this weekend."
The victory over the Bulls also brought an end to a three-match losing streak for the Western Province outfit, offering a timely boost of confidence.
Willemse admits that while the defeats were frustrating, they highlighted areas that needed improvement, particularly around game management and avoiding pressure situations.
He adds that the squad has taken those lessons on board and is focused on maintaining consistency as they push towards the playoffs.
Willemse has welcomed the return of loose forward Hacjivah Dayimani, describing his presence as a major lift for the squad ahead of the business end of the campaign.
Dayimani rejoins the Stormers after a stint with Racing 92 in France, bringing added depth and familiarity to the pack at a crucial stage of the season.
Willemse says his energy and understanding of the team environment will be invaluable in the weeks ahead.
"It's great to have Hacjivah back. He's an awesome character in the team, we love him, and he has just brought so much energy and spirit. He's a funny character, and his style of play matches the Stormers identity."
The Stormers’ improved performance has also been credited to better discipline and the influence of experienced players returning to the fold.
Senior figures such as Deon Fourie, Neethling Fouché and Ruhan Nel have added composure and a physical presence, helping steady the side in high-pressure moments.
The Stormers return to Cape Town Stadium on Sunday for a 15:00 kickoff, marking their first United Rugby Championship home fixture at the venue since January.
A crowd of around 20 000 supporters is expected to turn out.
Laker says playing at home provides a significant boost, with the energy from the crowd often lifting the team’s performance, and he has urged fans to come out in numbers once again.
