Stormers aim to be more clinical and cut errors for Ospreys clash

Stormers forwards coach Rito Hlungwani says the Cape side are keeping their feet firmly on the ground ahead of their upcoming United Rugby Championship clash against Ospreys.

An emphatic 35-0 win over defending champions Leinster in the opening round of fixtures on home soil last Friday has the franchise buzzing at the top of the standings.

Hlungwani says their focus this week is on being more clinical and eliminating mistakes when they welcome their Welsh opponents to DHL Stadium on Friday night.

"I'm going to sound like a broken record – the big thing is improvement, what can we improve, where can we be better, and that's definitely our mindset," said Hlungwani.

"There are small little things that we felt we didn't do well, so we want to do the things we did well and [improve on] those things that we didn't do well come Friday night."

Hlungwani emphasised that accuracy in line-outs and smoother transitions between forwards and backs are key areas they are working to improve.

"Probably just the timing – in the line-out, in how we sort of link up with the backs, and that usually comes from playing more games and training on that detail," he added.

"We thought we could have been much more clinical with just that transferring of the ball between forwards and backs, it's something we felt is an area in which we can improve."

The Stormers will be without playmakers Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and Damian Willemse, who are on Springbok duty, as well as injured fullback Warrick Gelant.

But they will be bolstered by the availability of Scotland international Oli Kebble, prop Sazi Sandi, and veteran World Cup winner Deon Fourie.
