Neil Powell welcomes Curwin Bosch's return to form

Sharks flyhalf Curwin Bosch put on a sublime display against the Lions on Saturday, earning praise from Director of Rugby Neil Powell.

The first of the United Rugby Championship derby clashes saw the Sharks earn a clumsy but convincing 29-7 win over the Lions at a damp Ellis Park. After a slow start that could have easily seen the visitors down 16-0 if the Lions had taken their chances, Bosch helped the Sharks find some form, contributing 14 points to the tally.

The flyhalf scythed through a gap and sped away to open the scoring in the opening half, then proceeded to slot nine points off the kicking tee while marshaling the game well.

"He has done well this season already and in the second half he showed how he can manage the game with his boot," said Powell of Bosch in the post-match press conference, as per rugby365.com.

"He puts good performances together. It is really great if you can rely on your 10 to manage the game as he has done in the second half. So it is great to have him."

However, facing the difficult task of fronting up against Irish giants Ulter at Kings Park in Durban next week, Powell admitted that improvements are needed. Ulster are currently third on the URC table, but have lost three of their last five outings.

"We were not as clinical as we would have loved," admitted Powell.

"There is a lot of stuff that we haven™t done well like decision making, sometimes we lacked a bit of effort.

"Therefore will definitely look to make a step up against Ulster and get a positive result there next week as well."

The bonus point win moved the Sharks up to seventh on the table three points behind perennial rivals, the Bulls.
