Manie Libbok fires Kintetsu closer to promotion with 37-point masterclass in Japan

Manie Libbok delivered a standout performance in Japan on Saturday, scoring 37 points to lead Kintetsu Liners to a commanding 77-36 victory over Hino Red Dolphins in Tokyo.

The Springbok flyhalf crossed for a hat-trick of tries and maintained a perfect record from the kicking tee, converting all 11 of his attempts in a dominant all-round display.

Libbok's form has been central to Kintetsu's push for promotion, with the side now sitting top of the Division 2 standings after 10 wins from 11 matches. The South African international was brought in to help guide the club's return to the top flight, and has quickly become the division's standout performer.

He is currently the leading points scorer in the competition with 135 points from 11 appearances, including five tries, two penalties and 52 conversions.

The Liners' promotion charge continues next week with a key fixture against third-placed Shimizu Koto Blue Sharks in Osaka, another crucial step in their bid to secure top-tier status.
