Lions suffer double injury blow as Jordan Hendrikse moves to fullback for Munster clash

The Lions have suffered a double injury blow with centre Henco van Wyk and fullback Quan Horn missing from the team that will face Munster in the United Rugby Championship (URC) encounter on Saturday.

Jordan Hendrikse is set to make his 50th international appearance for the hosts as they welcome the defending champions to Ellis Park.

Hendrikse will run out at fullback with Horn sitting out the contest due to a shoulder injury while the Lions will also miss Van Wyk for the rest of the season due to an injury suffered in the 44-12 victory against Leinster last week.

There is a welcome return for Ruan Venter, who finds a place on the bench, while Gianni Lombard, who covers both flyhalf and fullback, also named among the replacements.

A victory for the Lions on Saturday would place Ivan van Rooyen's men in a favourable position as they continue to chase a URC play-off spot, with only three regular league games remaining for the season.

Lions scrum coach Julian Redelinghuys cautioned earlier this week that while their Irish opponents boast a host of internationals, focus should not be placed on that too much but rather on his team's processes.

He said: "For us to have success this weekend we will have to focus on ourselves, focus on our processes and not allow the Munster's star power to distract us.

"If you focus too much on other things, you tend to forget what you need to do so it™s vitally important that we concentrate on us while being aware of what we will be up against."
