Leinster cruise into URC final after blowing holders Glasgow Warriors away

Leinster cruised into the United Rugby Championship (URC) final after beating defending champions Glasgow Warriors 37-19 in Dublin on Saturday.

The home side scored six tries in total to overpower the Scottish visitors, who simply had no answer to wave after wave of attacks.

Glasgow responded to conceding an early try to Dan Sheehan after only three minutes by scoring at the other end immediately through George Horne.

Leinster dominated the contest from that point onwards though as they ran in three more tries through Jamie Osborne, Thomas Clarkson and Sheehan to take a 25-5 lead into the halftime break.

Two more tries after the interval from Osborne and Ciaran Frawley extinguished hopes of an unlikely comeback before consolations from Jamie Dobie and Sione Tuipulotu brought some respectability to the scoreline.

Home flyhalf Sam Prendergast did not have the best game with the boot as he only slotted two conversions and a solitary penalty but it mattered little.

Leinster will host next week's final in Dublin where they will play the Bulls or the Sharks.
