Italy claim famous win over Wallabies

Italy beat Australia for only the second time in 20 matches with a stunning 26-19 victory at Stadio Friuli.

The visitors made a great start and scored three tries without reply in the opening 51 minutes as Matt Faessler, Angus Bell and Carter Gordon went over.

Andrew Kellaway slotted two conversions for the Wallabies but the Italians surged in the second half to claim a famous win.

Louis Lynagh, son of Australia great Michael Lynagh, and Melbourne-born Monty Ioane both scored five-pointers for the hosts.

Paolo Garbisi slotted both conversions and added four penalties to complete a famous comeback.

Sloppy Ireland surge in second half to beat Japan

Ireland were not at their best but still scored six tries to beat Japan 41-10 in Dublin on Saturday.

The first half was a scrappy affair with the hosts taking a 17-10 lead into the halftime break thanks to tries by Jack Crowley and Nick Timoney.

The visitors stayed in the contest after Kenji Sato went over for a five-pointer while Seungsin Lee slotted a conversion.

The Irish showed their superiority after the interval though and scored a further four tries to seal a win closer than the final margin suggested.

All Blacks leave it late to beat Scotland

The All Blacks needed a late try by Damian McKenzie to see off a fired-up Scotland 25-17 at a roaring Murrayfield.

New Zealand had a 17-0 lead at the halftime break after an early try by Cam Roigard and another late five-pointer by Will Jordan.

The home side roared back after the interval though with Kyle Steyn and Ewan Ashman going over for tries while Finn Russell slotted two conversions and a penalty to draw the teams level.

The All Blacks however kept their Grand Slam hopes alive when McKenzie brilliantly scored in the left corner seven minutes from full-time and then slotted a penalty to seal the victory.

England see off Fiji at Twickenham

England scored six tries in total put 38 points past a gallant Fiji side at Twickenham.

Luke Cowan-Dickie and Immanuel Feyi-Waboso scored first half tries for the hosts but Fiji hit back through five-pointers from Tevita Ikanivere and Caleb Muntz.

England, however, pulled away after the interval with Ellis Genge, Jamie George, Henry Arundell and Maro Itoje all crossing for tries.
