David Kriel scores hat-trick as Bulls bounce back with big URC win over Zebre

The Bulls had too much firepower for Zebre Parma in Saturday's URC clash at Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi in Italy, running out 54-29 bonus-point winners.

Zebre's losing run was stretched to 28 as Bulls centre David Kriel went in for a hat-trick of tries with Akker van der Merwe and Devon Williams crossing for two apiece.

Sergeal Petersen also touched down and Johan Goosen booted six conversions and Chris Smith one.

The Italians were more competitive during the first half which ended with the Bulls leading 21-15, and they did secure a try bonus point thanks to scores from Jacopo Bianchi, Geronimo Prisciantelli, Scott Gregory and Lorenzo Pani, with Prisciantelli also adding nine points with the boot.

But Jake White's men really showed their class in the second half to pull away for a deserved victory, with all three of Kriel's tries coming after the 50th minute.

The Bulls are back in action next week when they face Welsh outfit Cardiff.
