Fresh off their comprehensive 47-7 win over the Dragons in Newport, the men in blue rumble westward to Llanelli to face the plucky Scarlets. The Welsh side boast two wins against the Bulls, both coming at their beloved Parc y Scarlets.
Llanelli is not a happy hunting ground for visitors. The Scarlets have claimed the big scalps of Glasgow Warriors and Ulster at home this season. So despite their poor record, with just four wins leaving them down in 14th on the table, Coetzee is taking nothing for granted.
"They're a team that stays in the fight until the very last minute," said the flanker.
"If you're ill-disciplined or allow them into your half, they capitalise. That makes them very dangerous.
"We have always come up short against them, so the motivation is definitely there and there is everything to play for.
"The biggest motivation is that we've never won there. It keeps you humble and provides extra motivation to train harder, be sharper and do our homework better."
Aside from making a small piece of history, a victory would go a long way in the Bulls' fight to secure a place in the playoffs. The men from Pretoria currently occupy eighth spot. But with a spread of just four points covering fourth to ninth, the race is on.
"You can only control what you can and that was our performance on the weekend," reflected Coetzee.
"The rest is in other teams' hands and if it does benefit you forward, it's just great. But we can't really bargain all our chips on that.
"We have to still grind out every win and get the most out of it where we possibly can.
"But I think there's just a sense of hunger in the team to really want to make the play-offs and even take that step further forward without looking too far ahead."
