This impending fight was initially scheduled for December 2025, but Charlton Malajika picked up an injury that delayed this exciting all-African matchup. The 25-year old says he is fully recovered and ready for Mwale.
“The injury was disappointing, but I just can’t wait to fight, especially for a title and against an undefeated guy,” said the rising South African talent.
Fighting out of Edenvale and Brian Mitchell’s Boxing Academy, he has the benefit of sharpening his tools against his brother and current Champion, Ricardo Malajika, as well as a former opponent of his and WBC Africa Champion, Ndabezinhle Phiri.Together with the others, Malajika adopts the mindset of train hard and fight easy.
“We all push one another in this gym, everyone is a champion or wants to be a champion and I’m sure that by the time I arrive that side, I will be ready to put on a good performance for the belt.”
The manager and mentor of Malajika, Brian Mitchell believes Malajika has the ability to win what might be the fight of his life.
“The fight was scheduled for December because Charlton unfortunately tore ligaments in his knee, but I’m glad to say the fight is back on."
“We’re going to Zambia, we’re going to the lion’s den, which will not be easy especially because the opponent is undefeated and he is the WBC International Champion, but we believe that Charlton Malajika is a future World Champion.”
