PFL Africa will kick off season 2 on Friday 10 April 2026, at the Sunbet Arena in Tshwane.
Speaking exclusively to SABC Sport, Schulze says he is excited to start season 2 in South Africa, as he feels Mzansi is the biggest mixed martial arts country within the continent.
“We bring together the best mixed martial arts talent across the continent that could compete at a global level. We’re here to highlight, to provide a platform to serve these athletes with an avenue for their growth and as they become Pan-African stars and, very soon, global stars as well,” says Schulze
“We’re excited to start the second year in South Africa, which is arguably the most loved and biggest mixed martial arts country within the continent.
“South Africa has a great tradition, and we have five amazing South African fighters on the card. So it’s going to be a wild night come 10 April, no doubt.”
He also revealed that PFL Africa caters to an audience of around four million viewers per fight, reaching more than 100 countries.
Another key objective for the organisation is to promote fighters from the continent, such as South Africa’s Nkosi Ndebele, who headlines the PFL Africa card. Ndebele will also compete at the global level within the PFL global universe, allowing African talent to be elevated to the global PFL level.
Schulze says that Nkosi Ndebele is the perfect example of this pathway.
“He became the champion of Africa, and his first fight this year is back on African soil, right here on the 10th of April. That’s where he is starting his year, and then he may compete at the global level in a PFL global fight later in the year. That’s definitely on the cards. So that’s the kind of dream we’re making a reality across the continent.”
