In an exclusive conversation with SABC Sport, the mixed martial artist from Mitchells Plain says he just wants to fight the best on the continent and hopes the (Professionals Fighters League) PFL and EFC will make the fight happen with Nkosi Ndebele.
"The people have brought Nkosi Ndebele to my attention, and I think it’s an absolute spectacle and an amazing matchup. I’m ready for it and I’m ready to take on whoever is the next best.
“If the MMA gods see it fit, ‘The Troublemaker’ is always ready to put on a show.”
In the space of a week, the bantamweight division in Africa grabbed centre stage with both Nkosi Ndebele and Gift Walker obtaining huge wins and Faeez Jacobs himself is fresh from defeating Girdham in what was an all-out war in Cape Town…
It was insane to fight in front of a sold out GrandWest Arena in Cape Town, I had an epic back and forth against the Australian Girdham. We put each other to the test, but I was the last man standing.
That fight was about endurance and about heart, and I have the heart of a champion. You’re not going to stop me, especially not in my hometown.”
'The Troublemaker’s’ prospective opponent is said to be waiting for his PFL Global opportunity after capturing the PFL Africa Title in December last year and defending it on April 10, but an all South African showdown between the PFL Africa Champion and the EFC Champion might be one for the history books if the matchmakers and relevant promoters come to an agreement.
Jacobs also admitted that he is operating in a very exciting weight division…
"The bantamweight division in Africa right now is looking very interesting, and that’s why I came to this PFL event.
"I think out of all the guys I have the option of fighting, I would want the top guy and the biggest name there is, and let’s find out who the best in Africa will be.”
