The sold-out race, which begins at 9am, will see 15,000 runners take to the streets.
Since its inception in 2015, the event has showcased top talent, and Xaba—nicknamed the "super charger" of local road running—will be the one to watch as she aims to post a fast time and claim the R30,000 winner’s prize.
She faces stiff competition from a strong field that includes Lesotho’s Neheng Khatala, Ethiopia’s Salem Gabre, and local contender Cacisile Sosibo.
Confident and motivated, Xaba is determined to deliver a winning performance on Mother’s Day.
"I can say that being a favourite when it comes to the race is making it a bit challenging but me, I like challenges because I’m looking forward to have a great race on Sunday,” Xaba said.
“I was full of training one week and this week was just for recovering. I'm looking forward to have a good race. I will be happy if I can leave a good memory for ABSA as other races.”
The national marathon record holder is confident in her ability to manage the pressure of being the favourite and remains focused on executing her race plan to deliver her best performance.
She has already claimed victory in the Cape Town race twice over the past decade.
"Yes, I can handle the pressure of being a favourite because mentally you need to be strong. You need to be fit mentally so that whatever comes across you, can't disturb you," she added.
Having been part of the series since its inception, Xaba reflected on her earliest memories of the race in an interview with SABC Sport and spoke about how much she has grown as a runner over the past decade.
