This after the 39-year-old netball administrator was voted into the NSA executive, becoming the federation’s youngest Director of Coaches.
Speaking to SABC Sport, Chauke says being the youngest member of the NSA exco is a step into the right direction - stating that generation mix within the organisation is important to help generate new ideas to propel netball into greater heights.
“So glad to be one of the youngest to get into the exco, I am only 39. It is quite humbling and it is a great step from Netball South Africa - as this speaks to having a generational mix, which looks into new ideas and finding innovative ways to propel the organisation forward,” said Chauke.
Chauke unpacks what is expected of her as the new director of coaches, stating that part of her role is to make sure that she implements programmes generated to capaciting coaches to perform well across the board.
“My role is coming up with programmes that are geared to educating and empowering our coaches to perform well from grassroot feeding into national and international level,” added Chauke.
The NSA executive, expected serve for the next four years, includes Mami Diale who succeeds Cecilia Molokwane as the federation’s President, Khosi Dlamini as Vice
President, Lana Krige as Director of Selections, Magriet Bester as Director of Umpires and Claudine Classen as Director of Demarcations and Structure.
Chauke believes this is the suitable leader to redirect NSA to top.
“This current exco is extremely experienced and will be key to propel the sport forward. We need to work as a team and pull towards the same direction if we want to succeed,” she expressed.
