Burmester shot 18 under to finish fourth, as Australian Lucas Herbert clinched his maiden individual victory with a 24 under at Trump National Golf Club in Washington DC.
The Southern Guards GC member was the top-ranked South African and African player, and drew similarities to Ebotse Links in Benoni as he shrugged off his failure to compete for the title.
"I think it's a great golf course, it's kind of a link-style layout, very American, it's tough. Obviously the scoring was great, I think we got good weather and that helped with the scoring but perfect condition golf course,” Burmester said.
“Obviously I'm happy to finish another top 10, another top five, so I'm happy about that. A little disappointed about the finish but you know what? Life goes on."
The Southern Guards finished in sixth in the team rankings, with 4Aces GC coming out on top after beating off Fireballs GC in a four-ball playoff.
'Burmy' again addressed the League's future following confirmation that Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund will pull the plug on their multi-billion dollar investment at the end of 2026.
"I'm confident, I think I'm backing Scott O'Neil and his team to go and find the investment, this is too good of a product to die out. So, I think a lot of the players are standing together and we all feel like we're on the road to something that we maybe have more of a say in and something we can make truly special," he added.
