AmaZulu have signed a loan-deal to get Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Jody February.

AmaZulu FC has secured the services of talented goalkeeper Jody February from Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 26-year-old shot-stopper, who last played competitively while on loan at Swallows FC during the 2021/22 season, has joined the KwaZulu-Natal club on a six-month loan deal.

In an interview with KickOff, February expressed his excitement about the opportunity to play for AmaZulu and his determination to make the most of it. He said, "I'm just happy to be here. If I get an opportunity, anything can happen. I'm ready.

"For now, game time would be nice. The goal is to help the team firstly, and repay them for the trust they've shown in me. I want to repay their faith in me."

February also revealed that AmaZulu was his preferred choice due to their willingness to put pen to paper, as opposed to just talking about it. He said, "I chose AmaZulu because they came and they actually put pen to paper. Others just spoke. Change of scenery sometimes it's good man.

"I'm away from Joburg now seeing something else. You never know what might happen after the six months," February added.

With the addition of February, AmaZulu has reinforced their goalkeeping department and will look to challenge for honours this season.

The club's chairman Sandile Zungu has expressed his delight at the signing, saying: "We are delighted to have Jody on board. He is a highly-skilled goalkeeper with a wealth of experience and we are confident that he will make a significant contribution to the team."
