While South Africa humiliated the Indians in front of their own fans with a 76-run victory, the Caribbeans put Zimbabwe to the sword with a 107-run thumping of their own.
They posted an intimidating 254 total in that match, and Stubbs says they are aware of their opponents’ ability to run away with the game if they’re not contained early enough.
"We even saw in the series that they posted massive scores and all the batters are in really good form, so they bring that challenge with a bowling attack that's doing really well,” Stubbs said.
“So, I think completely it's different in here but as far as in a way it's a similar challenge like a really good batting line up. Who can score that big score if you are not on it and a bowling attack that can do a good job at defending.
“So, yeah, we'll be ready for Thursday, probably packed similarly to India but we'll be up for it."
Stubbs was one of the big contributors to the statement win on Sunday with a 24-ball 44. He says while it was billed as a final before the final in both South Africa and India, to them it was just all about getting the points.
"Yeah it's a massive win for us, I think over here especially in the media it was brought out that it's like a massive contest which it was, but ultimately it was about getting the two points,” he added.
“We tend to thrive off those big games as a team, a massive crowd, really got us all going and ultimately we got those two points leading up to the rest of the comp."
The 25-year-old was not part of the original squad heading to this World Cup, and was only called up - along with Ryan Rickelton – after injuries to Donovan Ferreira and Tony de Zorzi.
