This will be the second edition of the game after rain interrupted proceedings last year, and Joubert says the main reason is to generate interest in the women’s game taking place earlier in the day between the Titans and Lions.
He revealed that they are also playing for a good cause with several charities benefitting from the proceeds.
"The legends game came about to try and uplift women's cricket because there's a game where the Fidelity Titans play against the Lions," explained Jourbert.
"And we were trying to make it high profile and also then go to the function at night where we do an auction and that goes to our charity which is the Sky Blue Trust, Loftus 200 and Gerald Ross Foundation.
"There's some money that's being given to AB as well for his charity, so the money that we make goes to charity and we do this just for upliftment and create another event outside the cricket calendar for people to come and enjoy.
"So that's how it came about, we did it last year and it was a big success, with a lot of people coming to watch the legends playing, so that kind of jumped on top of us and it became a very big event."
Joubert further confirmed that nine former Springboks will turn out for the Bulls side, including captain Fourie du Preez and ex-half-back partner Morné Steyn, with the plan now to make this an annual event and perhaps grow it to more than the current teams.
"It is an annual thing that we want to establish, just as a fun, family event, and also we're trying to shuffle it around Pretoria – at a certain time, well 2007/08, both teams were really strong and close to each other, and Pretoria saw two very good teams winning quite a lot of things.
"And that's why we want to do this and maybe even grow it bigger to make sure it's an event people can look forward to."
