Speaking ahead of the match, Conrad says past participation in the Pakistan Premier League will come in handy for the team, with the knowledge of the conditions key to their success in the shortest format of the game.
He says that combined with their preparations for the tour should be enough to make them competitive in the series.
"We've got our last practice this evening where we'll just add the finishing touches to it but yeah, I think coming to Pakistan the subcontinent, whatever format is tough. They obviously know their conditions really well but we've also had guys that have played in the PSL and have played here before and we also have access to former players that have played here, so we can tap into that as well," Conrad said.
"So, we're pretty confident with how our preparations have gone and it's all about execution now."
Conrad has overseen a couple of T20 series since his white ball appointment, including in Australia and England.
He admitted that this will be a tougher test with those other countries having similar conditions to South Africa.
"Yeah I think there's always a challenge of conditions being different, we come off tours in Australia and England which are keen to what we know back home. So, the good thing is that we've obviously got so many players and all the staff that have been around, playing in other leagues here or coaching in setups where the subcontinent is taken into," the coach explained.
"There are obviously little adjustments but definitely enough intel in terms of what's required, how we strategise, the plans we put in place."
