This came after a bonus-point 61-run win over Joburg Super Kings at St George’s Park in Gqeberha last night, as the two-time champions reclaimed top spot in the table in the process.
Muthusamy says they’ve ticked the first box after a difficult season affected by rain in parts of the country.
"Yeah, fantastic – the first check point is complete. It's been a bit stop-start with the weather and rain delays, and a bit of lightning in Joburg," said Muthusamy.
"We've played here, we've not played there, and I think generally we've played pretty good, consistent cricket throughout the tournament so far.
"So it's really nice to get another win today and just sort the first checkpoint out, and ja, we're now looking forward to the next couple of games."
Muthusamy, who returned bowling figures of 3/26 in the match as his contribution towards the win, says the environment within the team has made it easier to perform at their best this season.
"I'm just grateful to contribute towards the team, I think it's been a fantastic few weeks and spending time in this environment has been awesome – it's a great system that the guys have that work here," he noted.
"A lot of the players I've played with before, so that's been fantastic and it's made it a lot easier to adjust, and it's been a great few weeks so we're looking forward to the business end of the competition."
