SA20 records and stats: CSA's flagship tournament by the numbers

Here, SABC Sport takes a look at some of the records and stats that could be broken this year.

391 - The number of runs Jos Buttler has scored in the SA20, more than anyone else in the history of the competition so far.

254 - The highest total racked up in the SA20, scored by the Joburg Super Giants against the Pretoria Capitals in February 2023.

201.49 - The incredible strike rate of Will Jacks from his seven games in the inaugural season of SA20. He scored 270 runs at an average of 38.57.

113 - The highest individual score achieved in a SA20 match, scored by Faf du Plessis for the Joburg Super Kings against the Durban Super Giants

62.50 - Matthew Breetzke's batting average after the first season of SA20 was higher than any other player but it won't be a surprise if it drops a bit this season or if he is overtaken by the likes of Leus du Plooy and Heinrich Klaasen.

20 - Going into the second SA20 campaign, Roelof van de Merwe and Anrich Nortje top the list of wicket takers with 20 apiece.

19 - Unsurprisingly, with a strike-rate over 200, Jacks hit more sixes than anyone else in the first SA20 with 19, two ahead of Klaasen and three more than Dewalt Brevis and Quinton de Kock.

10 - Ottneil Baartman boasts a better strike rate than any other bowler in the competition, picking up a wicket every 10 balls he bowled on average in the first season of SA20.

9.55 - It will be an incredible effort if he can maintain it through season two, but Van der Merve also boasts the best bowling average in the competition, a shade under 10 runs a wicket.

8 - The record for the most sixes hit by one player in a single innings is shared by Jacks and Du Plessis on eight.

6 - The most wickets taken by a bowler in an SA20 match was when Van der Merwe claimed six scalps for the Eastern Cape Sunrisers against the Joburg Super Giants.

4 - The record for the most 50s scored in SA20 so far is held by two people with four half-centuries each: Buttler and Klaasen.

3 - The number of times Evan Jones has been dismissed for a duck in SA20. He tops the table going into season two.

3 - The number of people to have scored more than 100 runs in a single innings in the SA20, namely Du Plessis, Klaasen and Aiden Markram.
