Proteas ease past Bangladesh to reach Women's World T20 semi-finals

South Africa booked their place in the Women's T20 World Cup semi-finals on Tuesday night after cruising past Bangladesh with a 10-wicket victory.

Bangladesh struggled to set the Proteas a challenging target as they could manage only 113/6 from their allotted overs.

Nigar Sultana and Sobhana Mostary were the standouts for Bangladesh with the bat as they scored 30 from 34 and 27 from 30 balls respectively.

Marizanne Kapp and Ayabonga Khaka were in excellent for with the ball as they both produced tidy figures of 2/17 and 2/21 respectively from their four overs.

South Africa's opening pair did not take any chances as they chased down the modest target.

Laura Wolvaardt top-scored with 66 runs from 56 deliveries, alongside Tazmin Brits, who bagged a half-century from 51 balls as they reached 117 from 17.5 overs.

The win set up a semi-final clash with England as South Africa finished second in their group.
