Needing four off the final ball, Holder carved Shaheen Shah Afridi to the boundary to spark wild celebrations, capping a dramatic finish in which the hosts chased down a modest target of 134 with no balls to spare.
The veteran all-rounder, who earlier claimed 4 for 23 to become West Indies' all-time leading T20I wicket-taker (81), surpassed Dwayne Bravo's record and finished unbeaten on 16. His composure helped snap the Windies' six-match losing streak in the format, following their 5-0 drubbing by Australia last month.
After Pakistan won the series opener by 14 runs on Thursday, they looked poised to clinch the series when West Indies slumped to 96 for 6 in the 17th over. Spinner Gudakesh Motie top-scored with a crucial 28 but was run out off the first ball of the 17th, triggering a flurry of nerves in the Caribbean camp.
Mohammed Haris caught Keacy Carty for a duck shortly after, but Holder revived the chase with a late six in the 18th. Romario Shepherd added firepower in the penultimate over, smashing Hasan Ali for a six and a four to bring the equation down to eight off the final six deliveries.
Afridi struck early in the final over, trapping Shepherd lbw for 15, but debutant Shamar Joseph rotated the strike smartly alongside Holder. A late wide from Afridi tilted momentum further, before Holder sealed the win with a crisp boundary off the last ball.
Earlier, Pakistan posted 133 for 9 on a slow surface. Hasan Nawaz top-scored with 40 off 25 balls (four sixes, one four), while skipper Salman Agha added a steady 38. Holder's incisive spell ensured Pakistan never built sustained momentum, keeping the target within reach.
With the series now tied at 1-1, the decider promises fireworks on Sunday night at the same venue under lights.
