Ollie Robinson stars again as England seal Test series win over Pakistan

Ollie Robinson was again the architect of Pakistan's downfall, claiming 4-24 in the second innings to finish with remarkable match figures of 8-35. The seamer had taken four wickets for 11 in Pakistan's first innings and now has 16 wickets across the opening two Tests.

Chasing 389 for victory, Pakistan were reduced to 14-3 as Robinson removed Azan Awais and Abdullah Shafique before Jofra Archer accounted for Babar Azam. The England attack continued to apply pressure, although Saud Shakeel produced a determined 97 to prevent another heavy Pakistan collapse.

Shakeel and Shan Masood added 97 for the fourth wicket before Robinson returned after a rain delay to dismiss Masood for 26. He then removed Mohammad Rizwan, leaving Pakistan increasingly reliant on Shakeel.

The left-hander struck 13 fours and two sixes and came within three runs of a deserved century before Josh Tongue had him caught at deep square leg. Tongue then dismissed Khurram Shahzad and Mohammad Ali to complete the innings at 194.

Earlier, Pakistan seamer Mohammad Abbas claimed his first five-wicket haul at Lord's, finishing with 5-57 as England were bowled out for 208. Abbas took nine wickets in the match, but Pakistan's batting shortcomings ultimately proved decisive.

England had recovered from 36-3 and 77-4 in their first innings to reach 290, with Josh Tongue and Gus Atkinson adding crucial runs at the bottom of the order. Robinson and Archer then dismantled Pakistan for 171 in the first innings.

The victory gives Joe Root two wins from his first two Tests since returning as England captain and secures the hosts' first series triumph since their success in New Zealand in late 2024.

The third Test begins at Edgbaston on September 9.
