Blow for Proteas after David Miller is ruled out of T20I series against England

The Proteas have suffered a blow after experienced batter David Miller was ruled out of the three-match T20I series against England, starting in Cardiff on Wednesday, with a hamstring strain.

The 36-year-old, who has 130 T20 international caps, suffered the injury while representing the Northern Superchargers in the recent-concluded Hundred tournament in the UK.

Miller missed the T20I and ODI series in Australia and the 50-over matches in England to take part in the Hundred and the Proteas have decided not to name a replacement.

In other news from the Proteas camp, former allrounder Albie Morkel has joined the coaching staff as a bowling consultant for the three games in England.

Morkel played 50 T20I for the Proteas and has extensive playing and coaching experience in franchise leagues around the world.

The three-match T20I series will start on Wednesday followed by games in Manchester on Friday and Nottingham on Sunday.
