In a Test match lasting just two days, the visitors were bundled out for 64 and 95 respectively as the Baggy Greens somewhat erased the embarrassment of the first Test to share the two-match series.
The hosts resumed the day on 165/8 with a set Cameron Green having just been joined by Nathan Lyon at the crease. The pair patiently poked and prodded, adding 21 runs before Shoriful Islam trapped Green in front for 67, the highest score of the match.
An unbeaten Lyon added 32 runs batting with the tail before they were all out for 210, enough for a first innings lead of 146. In a silver lining for Bangladesh, Islam earned his career-best figures of 7/47.
But Bangladesh didn't even threaten to make Australia bat again. Starc struck immediately, removing Shadman Islam after the opener was squared up and edged a simple catch to Marnus Labuschagne at point. Mominul Haque departed the very next ball, leaving a fuller delivery that nipped back and clipped his off stump.
Tanzid Hasan was next, hooking captain Pat Cummins to deep fine leg. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto briefly fought back, attacking Starc with five boundaries, including four strong drives. But his resistance ended after lunch when he chipped Nathan Lyon straight to long-off, leaving them 51/4.
Starc then removed Litton Das for a duck, who edged to third slip for his third duck of the series. Litton failed to score a single run in the Test.
Cummins added two wickets, dismissing Mehidy Hasan Miraz after an edge and Hasan Mahmud after the batter gloved a sharp bouncer to short leg.
Starc returned to claim Taijul Islam, completing a 10-wicket match haul, sporting match-figures of 10/51. Lyon wrapped up the tail shortly after tea to hand Australia an efficient victory.
"A lot of things went right these couple of days and a lot of things went wrong last week," quipped Cummins post-match.
"We needed to bounce back and it was a great couple of days for the lads. I thought everyone was sharp. It was the opposite last week. If you get a really good first hour or two it can set up the rest of the match. Green looked in total command, held our innings together. Hopefully he can take a lot of confidence from that. We know how good he is."
