Zwane shields Ngezana after costly errors

Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane is shielding defender Siyabonga Ngezana, the culprit in the first two goals they conceded in their 4-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Ngezana™s failed back pass led to the first goal. He then fouled Peter Shalulile in the box and the striker got up to convert the spot kick. Zwane who subbed the defender at half time says Ngezane was not himself during the game.

"If you look at how it happened, it happened early in the game, and then from there he could not recover". It™s unlike Siya".

"Siya is one of the best defenders we have, for an example the goal we conceded I think it was fourth goal where they played the ball down the line on the left- in those situations you know Siya will come up top unfortunately he was not himself today" Zwane explained

The coach adds that Ngezana also complained about a niggling injury. Zwane says mistakes are part of the game.

"But these things they do happen in football. I am not gonna kill him because of that, we will try to help him to lift his spirit up and train him, you know many other players are still going to commit such mistakes and we move one. I think we will get better on time, so he mustn™t worry about that that™s part of the game, we all make mistakes" Zwane added.

To make his point further, Zwane points out that even referee Victor Gomes got it wrong when he cautioned Zitha Kwinika with a yellow card instead of Ngezana for the foul on Shalulile.
