Thabiso Senyatsi upbeat ahead of TUT’s 2026 HWBSL campaign

TUT Matsatsatsa Ladies striker Thabiso Senyatsi says the team is going through a demanding but encouraging pre-season as they prepare for the 2026 Hollywoodbets Super League campaign.

The Tshwane outfit will be aiming to build on last season’s progress after climbing five places on the log to finish in the top six with 44 points from 30 matches.

Speaking to SABC Sport, Senyatsi says the intensity of their preparations is focused on laying a solid foundation for the upcoming season.

“The preseason has been demanding but encouraging. It’s about laying a strong foundation and getting everyone aligned. I’m looking forward to seeing how the work we’re putting in now reflects once the league starts,” said Senyatsi.

Despite enjoying a respectable 2025 campaign, the 21-year-old admits inconsistency prevented the team from breaking into the top three.

“2025 was a solid learning curve for the team. We showed potential but lacked consistency at times. This year it’s about tightening the small details and maintaining focus throughout the season,” added Senyatsi.

Senyatsi, who was voted Player of the Tournament at the 2025 Women’s Varsity Football competition, believes that experience has further motivated her to be more dependable for the team.

“The Varsity Cup gave us confidence as a group. This year, the aim is to build on that momentum and keep challenging ourselves at a higher level.

My focus is on continuous improvement and being reliable for the team. If I can contribute consistently and collective success will follow,” she expressed.
