Swallows host high-flying Richards Bay, Maritzburg host AmaZulu

Swallows eye a move out of the bottom two on Friday when they host Richards Bay, while Maritzburg will lock horns with AmaZulu in the DStv Premiership.

The Dube Birds find themselves down in 15th position in the league standings after winning only four of their 18 games so far this season.

Ernst Middendorp's side haven't won in their last three league outings but did manage to draw twice, against SuperSport and TS Galaxy.

Their visitors, Richards Bay, are at the other end of the table in second position as the best-of-the-rest, while Sundowns are 21 points clear at the top.

Should the Natal Rich Boys fail to beat the Dube Birds, it would give the Brazilians one less game to win to wrap their record-extending sixth consecutive title up this season.

Meanwhile, Maritzburg are also hoping for a move away from danger as they are only two points above Swallows.

The Team of Choice have won three of their last four, but most recently lost 1-0 against Chippa.

They will be hosting AmaZulu, who are in the middle of the pack in eighth position with two draws and a win in their last three games.
