Sekhukhune, who had started well in the league this season, until their draw and a loss to Chippa United and Polokwane City respectively, are ambitious.
Having led at the top until recently, Tinkler says it’s one of their primary objectives this season to lift a trophy.
"Yeah, we've got enough in our squad, we obviously picked up a couple of injuries along the way with Linda Mtambo with a long term injury and Matsimbi [Tsepo] with a long term injury and both players started the season very, very well,” Tinkler said.
“I feel that the depth that we have in the squad, Shaune Mogaila has come in, he's replaced, I think Vusi Mncube has really done well playing the 10 role. So, yeah I think we have the depth and we want to try and achieve things this season.
“One of those achievements is to try and win at least one of the cup competitions. So, we go into this game with that mindset and with that attitude to try and make sure that we get through to the next round."
In this opening round match, in the Carling Knockout, against Golden Arrows, Tinkler is aware that they are playing a revived Golden Arrows side under head coach Manqoba Mngqithi, who are riding high after back to back wins against Mamelodi Sundowns and Orbit College.
"Difficult team we played them not so long ago in the league where we did manage to beat them but their form has improved. The result that they got against Sundowns was a fantastic result, fantastic performance, so we know very well that it's gonna be a very, very tough game to play them in Durban,” the coach added.
“Manqoba's team, they play a very open type of game to play from the back, a lot of speed upfront, a lot of individual ability from the players so we're gonna make sure that we all stuck to ball organised but at the same time, try and apply our principles in the game and as much as we may have started the league well, it's about that consistency.
“We don't wanna lose two games in a row, we obviously lost our last league match so going into this one for us, very, very important that we look to get back to winning ways and obviously try and see ourselves in the next round of the Carling Cup."
