Stefan Ortega completes move to Nottingham Forest from Manchester City

German goalkeeper Stefan Ortega has left Manchester City to join Premier League side Nottingham Forest on permanent move.

The 33-year-old had spent three and a half years at City since joining the club from 2. Bundesliga side Armenia Bielefeld in 2022.

Ortega made 56 appearances for the Citizens in all competitions, winning a total of ten trophies with the club including the historic first UEFA Champions League title in his first season.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Manchester City," said Ortega to the club website.

"I leave here as a better goalkeeper and with so many experiences that helped me grown as a person. To have been involved in such an historic period of the Club is a huge source of pride and I have made memories I'll never forget.

"The Treble year was the greatest season in City's history, and then to become the first team to win four titles in a row was incredible. I am so proud of what I produced on the pitch when called upon."

Ortega will be facing competition from Belgium shot stopper Matz Sels and Scotland goalkeeper Angus Gunn for a starting birth at Forest.
