Glasner vows major changes after Nottingham Forest beaten by Brentford

Nottingham Forest head coach Oliver Glasner admitted his job will be at risk unless he can turn the club's fortunes around.

Forest's problems were compounded by a 2-0 defeat at Brentford on Saturday that left them firmly in the Premier League relegation zone.

A Nikola Milenkovic own goal in the first half and a late strike from Igor Thiago condemned Forest to a fifth game without a win.

The Reds remain one of the lowest-scoring teams in the division and have now lost four of their last five league matches.

Speaking to the BBC's Match of the Day, Glasner made clear that the time for compromise is over.

"It's now time not to make compromises, it's now time to show a clear way and everybody has to follow," he said.

"And if they don't want to follow, then I guess then the sixth manager will come in."

The Austrian, who became Forest's fifth permanent head coach in the space of a year when he arrived in the summer, accepted that significant change is required.

"Today is completely clear, we have to change something, a few things," Glasner said.

"I have to change a few things, and I will change a few things, 100%. We can't continue in the same way, we have to change a few things, and that's the key."

He pointed to recurring defensive errors and a lack of clinical finishing as the central issues.

"We are making too many mistakes, the defence, then we are down. We controlled the game. It's so obvious. We are slow, making the same mistakes, always different players."

"We are making too many mistakes in our defence and we are not ruthless enough, good enough, in finishing. That's the truth," Glasner added.

The head coach also indicated a shift in his own approach. Having previously favoured a more supportive style, he suggested a tougher stance may now be necessary.

"We start with hugging. If hugging doesn't work, we try the opposite," he said.

"The only way is to change it or these things will happen again. That's what we will do."
