Sphelele Mkhulise wary of Chiefs after perfect start to season

Chiefs have made a perfect start to the campaign, winning their opening two matches to move onto six points and claim early bragging rights at the summit.

Sundowns have a game in hand and will be determined to close the gap, but Mkhulise knows they face a difficult challenge against a Chiefs side full of confidence.

"This is a big game, and us as Mamelodi Sundowns are always ready to give our best for our supporters, and I promise them we will not disappoint them as players. We know it's going to be a very difficult game because they are doing well at the moment in the league, but we are excited."

Although the Tshwane giants are often dominant against their Soweto rivals, Mkhulise is well aware that predicting a favourable outcome is not a foregone conclusion.

Mkhulise added that Sundowns themselves are in a confident mood following back to back wins in the MTN8 and then in their league opener away to hoodoo side TS Galaxy in Mbombela on Tuesday night. 

The midfielder scored the winning goal for Sundowns to edge Galaxy 3-2 in a tense affair, with Mkhulise revealing that the key going forward is to never throw in the towel when chasing a game.

"We never stop believing and we never give up from the first minute until the last. We just keep our focus and keep on fighting in every single game."
