Ruben Amorim won't get carried away with Scudetto talk as AC Milan dismantle rivals Inter

AC Milan boss Ruben Amorim was full of praise for his players after a commanding 3-1 Serie A win over rivals Inter at the San Siro on Saturday but says he won't be distracted by title talk.

Christian Pulisic was on target after just four minutes, and Adrien Raboit followed suit with his goal on the 10-minute mark.

Alessandro Bastoni pulled a goal back for Cristian Chivu's charges with 22 minutes played but Diego Moreira made sure of the points with his effort just two minutes before the break.

Milan find themselves in fifth place on the league standings with 21 points from 10 games, seven adrift of leaders Lazio, and four behind second-placed Inter.

Reflecting on the game, Amorim said his ambitions with regards to catching the title chasers remain realistic.

"Cardinale gave us a goal, but the important thing is to win these games. Things won't change in a month, two months, or a year," Amorim told Sky Sport Italia.

"It takes time, but also magical nights like this. This victory won't change our situation.

"The Scudetto? It's possible, but I don't know when. We have to be honest. People aren't stupid, but they understand and see that this team is improving."

"It's especially important after Wednesday's game. We wanted to celebrate even more. I'm proud of what the lads achieved with so little rest after Bologna. I'm happy and proud," he added.

"I always try to interpret what the team tells me, but right from the start I had the feeling we were competitive; the team was focused and calm, and that's why I always had confidence."
