Ruben Amorim backs Samuel Chukwueze to make an impact at AC Milan next season

New AC Milan head coach Ruben Amorim says Samuel Chukwueze is part of his plans for the upcoming Serie A season.

The 27-year-old Nigerian international defender joined the Italian giants from Villareal in 2023.

He has featured 68 times for the club, scoring eight goals and assisting six.

He spent the 2025/26 season on loan with English Premier League side Fulham but is expected to be a part of Amorim's squad for their rapidly approaching campaign.

The former Sporting and Manchester United manager recently signed a three-year deal to replace Massimiliano Allegri as Milan boss.

Following speculation surrounding Chukwueze's future, the new I Rossoneri head coach has made his intentions clear.

"Chukwueze will stay with us because he's one against one and I think we need players that can go one-on-one," said Amorim on AfricaSoccer.

"I think players like [Yunus] Musa and Chukwueze have the quality to be in our squad and give us alternatives to play in different systems."

During his time at Craven Cottage, Chukwueze netted three goals and provided four assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.
