Richards Bay set for long-awaited return to Umhlathuze Stadium

Richards Bay FC have confirmed that they will finally host a competitive fixture at their original home ground, the Umhlathuze Sports Complex, after the PSL approved the venue.

The Natal Rich Boys will face TS Galaxy in their Betway Premiership clash at Umhlathuze on Wednesday, 17 September 2025, at 19:30.

This marks a significant moment for the club and its fans, who have been eagerly awaiting the return to Richards Bay since their promotion to the Betway Premiership in 2022.

The team has been forced to play their home games in Umlazi, splitting fixtures between King Zwelithini and Princess Magogo Stadiums, due to the Umhlathuze pitch not meeting PSL requirements.

Heavy rains during the KZN Premier’s Cup earlier this year had left the surface badly damaged, delaying the move back. But with the PSL now satisfied that the field is safe and playable, the stage is set for the club’s long-awaited return to its roots.

The return to Umhlathuze is expected to bring a major boost for the local community, with the stadium providing a true home-ground advantage for Richards Bay while reconnecting the club with its loyal supporters.
