Richards Bay calm over Ranga Chivaviro

Richards Bay FC chairman Jomo Biyela has broken the silence on Ranga Chivaviro, after Marumo Gallants' announcement.

Chivaviro has been dominating headlines, following interests from DStv Premiership clubs, after Gallants were relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

There were speculations about his future, with Richards Bay confirming his signature on Ukhozi FM last week, despite reports of the striker extending his contract with the Limpopo side.

On Friday, Marumo Gallants released a statement, stating that Chivaviro is moving to Naturena. As they were confirming other departures at the club.

Later on, in the interview with Victor Molefe, the Natal Rich Boys chairman says they won’t counter Gallants’ statement as they know where they stand with the player.

"We have seen a statement, but as a club, we know our story. So, we will not get into any debate about him," - Biyela told Molefe.

"We have signed him for two years with an option."

Regarding the Marumo statement, the chairman says, Richards Bay will only respond once a player is unveiled elsewhere.

"We cannot act on statements that do not talk about us; we will only respond once he is unveiled elsewhere."
