Ouaddou’s role in the deadly Appollis and Mofokeng combination

The deadly combination of Oswin Appollis and Relebohile Mofokeng have been giving teams sleepless nights this season, and it’s about to get worse before the end of the campaign, as they are not done just yet.

Between the two of them, they have made a combined contribution towards 39 goals this season across all competitions.

Ahead of the Soweto Derby against archrivals Kaizer Chiefs this weekend, all eyes are on the duo to continue where they left off last week.
Appollis reveals the talk they had when he joined Pirates last year...

"It's obviously vey exciting. When I came here, we spoke about the partnership and as you can see, things are working for us on the field, but we have to give credit to the players as well because they are making us grow and improve."

Pirates recorded one of their biggest wins in the Soweto derby recently, hammering Chiefs 3-0 in February.

Appollis knows that the improved AmaKhosi will be very different on Sunday, and prefers not to entertain the league’s title race for now...

"The previous game was a difficult one, although we took our chances and managed to get a victory, and going into this second derby we know it's going to be very difficult. We are focusing on one game at a time, and our focus right now is directly on Sunday."

Appollis has also weighed in on last weekend’s goal of Mofokeng, which was well assisted by Nkosikhona Ndaba, and interestingly, he says this was also something that comes straight from the training ground...
