UJ went down 2-0 to TS Galaxy Queens yesterday in a damaging result to their ambitions this season.
With nine games to play until they conclude their games, Modiko says there’s still a lot of football to be played and counting them out would be premature.
"There are still a number of games left in the season, and we will be taking each game as it comes.
It is not far-fetched to say that we are still in the title picture."
Modiko expressed disappointment in not only the way they conceded their first goal and a penalty for the second, but also with her team not taking their chances in the game.
She believes the game could have gone either way, and it wasn’t as lopsided as the result suggests.
"It is very disappointing, especially after all the preparation we put in for this match. Conceding the first goal was very unfortunate, and it unfortunately took us off the tracks for the rest of the match.
"We did have one massive chance in the first half, and if that chance was taken, this match would've been a different story," explained Modiko.
UJ have two weeks before their next match against JVW, and Modiko appreciates the few days of rest that come with that.
She also hopes it’ll allow some of her injured players enough time recover.
They will also be working on some tactical lapses that the coach noticed during the game, and hope they can get them right when they return to Super League action.
