Norway won't be bullied by Senegal warns Solbakken

Norway coach Stale Solbakken has vowed his side will be ready to match Senegal's physicality when the two nations meet in a crucial FIFA World Cup Group I encounter at MetLife Stadium on Tuesday.

The Lions of Teranga suffered a 3-1 defeat to France in their opening fixture and will be desperate to revive their campaign against the Scandinavians.

Senegal's status as African champions also remains under review by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, adding another sub-plot to their World Cup journey.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Solbakken expressed confidence that a Norway side spearheaded by prolific striker Erling Haaland will be fully prepared for a wounded and motivated Senegalese outfit.

"I'm not afraid of anything, but I do have great respect for Senegal," explained the coach

Solbakken does admit they are also looking to Haaland to add to his tally of two goals already scored at the World Cup when they beat Iraq.

"I think he is in great shape so hopefully there is more goals to come. He needs service and hopefully we can give him that tomorrow because he has been a great match winner for us in the past and hopefully that will continue against Senegal."

Solbakken was also quizzed on whether Haaland can still get better and who he thought was the best player in the world right now.

"I think Haaland can still improve like any other player. Look at Messi doing things at the age of 38 which he didn't do when he was at his peak. Messi and Ronaldo have dominated for a long time and now you have the likes of Haaland, Mbappe, and Yamal."
