Nathaniel Brown completes 'dream' Bayern Munich transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt

Nathaniel Brown completed his move from Eintracht Frankfurt to Bayern Munich on Friday after signing a contract that will keep him at the Bundesliga champions until 2031.

Bayern reportedly paid 55 million euros for the 23-year-old Germany international, who is expected to compete with Alphonso Davies for the left-back position. Davies has struggled with injuries in recent seasons, giving Brown the opportunity to fight for regular first-team football.

Brown said the chance to join Bayern was impossible to turn down and revealed that conversations with head coach Vincent Kompany played a major role in his decision.

"One of the best clubs in the world," Brown said of Bayern. "I've always dreamed of playing for the biggest titles at the highest level. I set myself the highest goals and want to get the maximum out of myself every day."

Bayern strengthened an already successful squad after winning the Bundesliga and German Cup during the 2025-26 campaign, while also reaching the UEFA Champions League semi-finals. Earlier this week, the club also confirmed the signing of midfielder Ismael Saibari following his impressive performances for Morocco at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Sporting director Max Eberl believes Brown has the qualities to become an important player for Bayern in the years ahead.

"Nathaniel has developed rapidly," Eberl said. "He still has so much potential and is one for the future."

Brown's rise has been remarkable. Eligible to represent the United States through his father, he chose Germany and made his senior international debut in October. He has since established himself as a regular starter and made an immediate impact at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring once and providing an assist in Germany's 7-1 victory over Curacao in their opening match.
